Wednesday Morning Analogous Bitchery

Verizon Wireless Customer Service is to "good" and "helpful" as stubbing one's toe is "fun" and
"nice-feeling".

Make sense?

Ditto Sprint PCS. I can't even talk about it, it is so horrific.

I bought a cell phone last night, paid for a plan..and found out AFTER the fact that i can't have a 617 number nor a 781 number nor any massachusetts area code because Adam's phone has a 603 (NH) area code. Even though i specifically asked before I paid for anything if it would be a problem having a different area code and the sales man said "NOT AL ALL". grrrrrrrrrrrr.....

who do you have now? still sprint?

My sister used to work for Verizon Wireless as a customer service rep and she had to quit within a month because the way they treat their customers is so ridiculous. She said half the stuff they made her tell customers wasn't even true, and that all they try to do is screw people out of money.

Go with Cingular. I've had them for over 4 years and have never once had a problem.

you are not kidding! they wanted to charge adam $15 for changing his area code even though he MOVED from NH to MA and that is what neccesitated the change. so basiclally he is being punished for moving.

Yes, I still have Sprint and they are ridiculously incompetant. Long story short, I broke my old phone and went to the Sprint store to get a new one. The sales girl was like, "you can have the $200 phone for free if you extend your contract for a year" - so I figured, fine, they all suck anyways, so whatever.

Not even TWO DAYS LATER my cell phone service is shut off due to "excessive charges" - the sales girl not only charged my account the $200 for the phone but also a $300 early termination fee, so now my bill is $500 for NO REASON. Not only that, but I use my cell for all my consulting business, so how embarassing is that if anyone tried to call and my cell was "temporarily out of service" aka "deadbeat didn't pay her bill"

Ughhh...I had to go in person back to the store to get it all straightened out because the phone customer service? Even worse.

Sarah - I agree with the Cingular recommendation. I've had them for 2 years and love them! Great customer service reps, little to no chance of you having to talk to some rep overseas and they stand by their customer service. I LOATHE Verizon with a passion. Had NOTHING but trouble, esp. with their Salem Mall store. They tell you a load of crap only to find out that they lied just to get you to sign on the dotted line. Found out the hard way when I moved to Orlando a couple months later. Uggghhhh - not happy memories.

Plus - Cingular has cute & fashionable phones (well as fashionable as a phone could get I guess).

I have Verizon and i do like it but mostly because they are the only ones who even come close to covering most of NH. Just threaten to switch to another plan and usually they can find you a better deal than they quoted. Competition is too fierce to put up with poor customer service.

I have a cingular family account in my name w/ 2 phones, both of them have phone numbers that have different cities attached to them. (So friends in both places that don't have long distance have a way to keep in touch w/ us.)

I don't know how they do w/ seperate AREA codes, but you can check. I like cingular. They've been good.

"Worry Free Guarantee" my ass! For 3 months my husband and I have been fighting our phone bill which THEY messed up when we combined plans for the Family Share. Somehow we keep getting charged for In calling. Isn't that free for everyone with any plan?

LOL I applied at Verizon and failed their 'choose your own adventure' type customer service test...but the guy who barely spoke english passed. Go figure. I guess that means they don't want you to think for yourself if you work there!
