Are You Sitting Down?
Well the time has come again for me to renew my car's registration and I have some rather shocking news.
Guess how many unpaid parking tickets I have?
ONE!
(I know it would be more shocking if I said "NONE" but come on, this is me)
Furthermore I had forgotten completely about until I got a letter yesterday from a collection agency (yes, a COLLECTON AGENCY) employed by the City of Boston to collect on unpaid parking tickets. For a measly $26 (only $6 more than what the original ticket was) I paid my ticket online and avoided their reporting my unpaid ticket (recieved April of 2007 in front of 200 Newbury Street for an expired inspection sticker as they so nicely reminded me and which is so nicely documented here ) to various credit bureaus.
This was infintely better than what I went through last time . I especially liked that I didn't have to go in person to City Hall and pay it. Good times.
Who knows, in 2010 I might have NO UNPAID PARKING TICKETS when it's time to renew my registration again.
A girl can dream (or just pay her gd parking tickets on time)

OH man. I think my registration is up next month and I have one (that I know of) that I need to pay. I should do that today.
But we both know I probably won't. Me = LOSER.
My registration was up in November. I got a new car in October and knowing this, I threw away the renewal that came in the mail. I thought that because I had just paid so much for the new car that it meant I had a new registration. Not the case here in the Commonwealth. I got a nice $100 ticket in the mail from a state trooper who did not even bother to get out of his car to have a chat with me. He just wrote me up and billed me! Lesson Learned!
Wow Boston girls. I don't know how you can deal with all the tickets. It would drive me crazy. Here in Albany, NY you have to work hard to get a ticket.

I have a lease, so at a minimum the leasing company mails me the ticket, in the instances of...oh, let's say -- the ticket person was too lazy to securely put the ticket under your windshield and maybe a gust of wind took it away?
So sometimes I get tickets sent to me that I never even knew existed.
