Erin did a post a little while ago about her summer essentials and I thought I would throw mu Summer Seven out there as well. Why, you may ask? Because I am still a little muddled from apres-work martinis yesterday. Maybe you will get a "real" post later on.

1) Fructis Soft Curl Cream

This is a Must Have in your beach bag if you are a curly girl like me. I tend to get a little fro-y after a day in the salt-water and a few dabs of this and I achieve perfect beach hair: nicely scented, tousled, a little wild, but not frizzy.

2)Les Couvant des Minimes body lotion in Verbena & Lemon

Salt = super drying on my skin. I have a ton of mini bottles of this and I keep one in my beach bag, one in my car, one in my purse, one in the bathroom. You never know when you will need a little lemony moisture pick me up. Plus they are on sale for $2.50 a pop at the Bath and Body Works sale.

3) Banana Boat Protective Tanning Oil, SPF 15

I like to be brown but I loathe being burned. Plus with skin cancer running in my family I really can't afford to. So I use this and while it does take me longer to tan, I never get burned AND it keeps the freckle explosions under control. They still happen, but it's more like minor blasts instead of atmoic bombs. It smells like a daquiri and as long as you reapply fairly often (every half hour or so), it does a fabulous job.

4) Burts Bees Lifeguard's Choice Lip Balm

Burnt lips are the worst, am I right? Plus, again with the coconut scented goodness.

5) Campari

What kind of list would this be without any booze? If there is a better, more refreshing summer cocktail than a Campari Spritzer then I don't know what it is.

6) Pink Martini's "Sympathique"

Quintessential, gorgeous summer cocktail party music. Read about it here.

7) The "Summer in New England" exhibition at the Peabody Essex Museum

I have been trying to coordinate with my mom for a while and we are finally going next weekend. The painters in this show are both New England residents and visitors including artists like John Singer Sargent and Andrew Wyeth. It is sure to be a gorgeous time.

I'm so glad you're still feeling the martinis from last night! I almost fell over getting dressed this morning. Thank God for caffeine, right?

LOL what's worse is when I came home I made myself a bloody mary to drink while I fixed dinner. BAD idea. Fun at the time though :-) See you Saturday!

Hey, I have tickets to see Pink Martini mid-September. Whoo hoo. I *heart* that CD to distraction.

I have been looking for a good summer curl enhancer since I sadly have come to the conclusion that my former sea-salt water curl spray is no longer being sold...I am soon going to be trying the fructise cream!! Onto a MUCH more important subject however...the tanning oil you spoke of. Now, as a fellow redhead who has as much of a tan as a red-head can get, I am intruigued by your useage of tanning OIL...I would be afraid that I would spontaneously combust if I put that on. Do you tan easily or do you think that it helps you tan easier and I should give it a shot???

did you used to use the KMS sea salt spray?? I did too and it is NOWHERE to be found. so sad. as for the tanning oil...it is really more of an oily mist (sounds hot, right?) and since it is SPF 15 if you can get away with using SPF 15 regular sunblock and not burn, then you can use this. When I dont use anything I usually burn/freckle right away and then it turns into a tan eventually. I have never burned with this stuff. The trick is just to reapply a lot.
