Restaurant Week!
This year it is August 22 through August 26th, and basically it's a culinary festival during which many of the best restaurants in Boston offer lunch for a fixed price of $20.05 and dinner for a fixed price of $30.05 (both include a 3 course menu featuring an appetizer, a main course, and dessert!). It's a great opportunity to check out a restaurant that normally might not be in your budget! Last year Adam and I went to Fleming's Steakhouse and got yummy potatoes, a steak dinner and a chocolate mousse for our meal. It was fantastic and normally would have cost well over $60 each!
(Of course, if you are a wino like me then what you spend on a bottle(s) of wine might put you well over budget. you can ask the server for a special Restaurant Week wine list and they will usually have discounts for wine by the glass!)
This year over 100 restaurants throughout Boston are participating. you can find the list, and all kinds of info here.
You can make reservations to most of these restaurants on this nifty website, Open Table which is great because 1)you get to look at what reservations are available before selecting one, 2) you get am emal confirmation of your reservation AND a reminder email the day of and 3) you get points for every reservation you complete and you can redeem these points for gift certificates to your favorite restaurant!
Adam and i are going to Aura at the Seaport Hotel on Aug 25th. maybe we'll see you there!
