i've heard that it's equally as illegal to drive way over the speed limit, as it is to drive way under it.

however i feel that the latter is never enforced. at least not that i've seen.

this morning i was haunted by the quintessential Old Lady Driver. she met three out of the four qualifications:

1) she was so short that her head barely showed over the back of her car seat
2) she was driving about 30 MPH on the highway
3) she was driving a Dodge Diplomat (but a Le Sabre, Crown Victoria or any car like that would have counted too)

the only Old Lady Driver qualification she did not possess is that her blinker was not on.

anywho, since i was stuck behind her for a good ten minutes, i got to thinking. why aren't police more vigilant about pulling these kinds of drivers over? i think it's safe to say that they are AS dangerous as fast drivers because the fury caused by being stuck behind someone going 30MPH is much greater than the fury caused by someone blowing by you at 90MPH, and there is a greater opportunity to take your fury out on these slow drivers because obviously they are easier to catch, they are more likely to see you give them the finger, plus they say it is easier to shoot a slower moving target (kidding!) etc...

in conclusion: i would like to see less Sports Edition Corollas, Mazda 6s and Mustangs pulled over on the side of the road, and more Dodge Diplomats and Mercury Grand Marquis.

Here! Here! My boyfriend gets so enraged by these slow drivers that at times, I really worry that he's going to pull out the Box of Death (the steel case which houses his Glock) and do them in. I might like to grow old with this man so if it takes pulling over everyone's Grandma to keep him out of jail, I'm all for it.

I definitely agree. They are also a danger in that they can barely see, let alone see over the steering wheel, and thus they weave in and out of lanes - who knows what/who they might hit! I think after a certain age (65, 70?) there should be mandatory license tests every few years.

Admittedly I am a bit late with this, but I was shocked and hurt to see you, Jill and Andy pasted into the GG pic... but where am I? Rose's head was still there!

BUT did you know it's legal (in most places. so I've heard) to drive in REVERSE if you are going the same direction as traffic and doing the speed limit?! Crazy! At least they wouldn't be going slow.
