so, this morning as i was driving to work i was thinking about this upcoming tax payment i have due in August, and i was like "you know, this is kind of like a balloon mortgage payment", you know like when you make the same payments for years and then all of a suddent you pay the whole thing off at the end of the specified length of your loan.

i know, it's not exactly like that, but i'm trying to make owing a large amount of money all at once sound glamorous, so cut me some slack!

and then i got to thinking "why do i even know about balloon mortgages?" and i remembered that a good friend of mine had one, and then when push came to shove they couldn't make the final and gigantic payment and they lost E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G. i think his wife might have left him too. but i could NOT remember who this person was. how could i know such an intimate detail of his life but not even know his name?

hmmmm....

and then i thought some more and i realized "hey, that wasn't someone i know...that was Lyon Burke from Valley of the Dolls".

oh well. that makes pretending that i am making a balloon mortgage payment even MORE glamorous, right?

I thought to myself "I've never heard of a 'balloon' payment". Then you mentioned valley of the dolls and it all came back. See you tonight
