Dear Department of Motor Vehicles,

i have a few proposals that i think you should take to heart.

now, i don't want to make generalizations....have you noticed that so many people have problems talking on their cell phone and driving at the same time? there are few things that infuriate me more than passing some 30mph weaving jerkoff on the highway only to see that he is yapping away, probably talking about how well the Rogaine has been working for him, while traffic backs up behind him. they are a danger to us all, and a danger to themselves because really, i want to hurt these kind of people very badly.

so, i propose that police should be able to pull people over who are driving badly due to cell phone use. and at that point, there car should be confiscated by a special task force set up for this exact situation. this task force will implant a tiny device somewhere in the offender's car that makes it impossible to make or recieve phone calls while inside the car. that way, they cannot talk while driving but they can call from outside the car if there is some kind of accident or what have you.

this is a good idea.

my second proposal is that from now on, a new addition should be made to the Driver's Ed curriculum and that addition is a mandatory 6 hour viewing of car accident footage. that way, kids will be SO sick of seeing accidents that when they come across one on the highway they will not slow down but in fact may even speed up because it will be so boring to them they don't even want to look at it. then, eventually we will have a whole new generation of drivers who realize that slowing down to look at an accident on the side of the road is both rude to the people in the accident and annoying to the people behind you who will be stopped in traffic for hours because of this rubbernecking.

you don't have to give me credit for this idea....but if you wouldn't mind implementing them right away that would be great!

thank you.

It's illegal in NY to talk without a handset while driving. Which yes, probably still causes problems while people are driving, and results in people saying "Hold on, cop!" and throwing down the phone, but I think it's a good idea. Talking with a handset thingy leaves both hands free, resulting in less weaving.

As as for traffic due to rubbernecking? Most. Annoying. Thing. EVER!

The DMV should definitely take it's ideas from you.

it's illegal in the uk too.

and in california, they DO make us watch accident footage. we had to watch red asphalt 1, 2, and 3. it was only about 4 hours though, not 6.
