i love this article. it was drawn to my attention via a lovely rant in ezra's blog.

i've heard so many people threaten to leave the US after the election. i've done it myself. don't you fell like that is the ultimate form of protest? leaving the country of your birth because you can't stand what it is becoming? adam and i disucussed doing this, primarily relocating to the Toronto region to be near the labatt's factory though i prefer la ville de la naissance de Celine Dion aka Quebec. Montreal is beautiful too though..i went there once, stayed at the Chateau Champlain..i remember all the malls being underground and being able to walk to one from the garage of my hotel...very convenient in rain/snow.

i don't think it's wrong to say or think these things. there is alot of helplessness going around these days and we need to binge on self-pity, misplaced righteousness and threats of assasinations/canadian defections in order to purge ourselves of this feeling of having no say in anything that goes on.

then, maybe we will be able to allow ourselves to hope again.

(p.s. before i edited this, i had written "defecation" instead of defection". ha!!)

in other news: this data entry project i am doing has achieved a new level of suck. i started off doing 3 pages an hour but due to unforseen technical problems i am now averaging about 1-2 pages an hour. and i need it done by tomorrow. curses!
