i have a new addiction: Word Mojo on yahoo games. i have been playing for the past 3 hours and am only taking a break now because my mouse-clicking finger is crampy.
obviously i am at work today. i am sitting at a desk in an almost wholly deserted office building. my only obligation today is to answer the phone and it has rung 4 times since i arrived here at 9AM.
good times.
i don't mind so much..i mean my commute was incredibly good this morning, i even had time to stop at Dunk's and try out the new peppermint mocha (pretty good, but cheap-tasting). the few people that are actually working here today all gave me quizzical looks when i came in, since it's laughable to have someone in just to answer the non-ringing phones. although the quizzical looks may be attributed to the fact that i did not wash my hair today and it looks quite nappy.
thanksgiving has come and gone. adam and i lazied around the house until around 3 when we finally got it together and went to my parents' house for dinner. my mom, as always, made about 10 times as much food as was needed so we got oodles of leftovers to take home with us. i got turkey-tired immediately, and on the way to NH to have dessert with adam's parents, i fell asleep and continued to be sleepy all night. the turkey-wine combo does it to me every time!!
so now that that is out of the way, we have something else to look forward to: my high school reunion. it is a hilarious scenario for many reasons:
1) our class couldn't get it together in time to have a 5 year reunion, so this is actually our 6th year reunion.
2) the invitation was sent out in EVITE form, to only the people whom our Class President had the email addresses for. and about 2 months after the evites were distributed: we were informed that the ticket prices were being raised from $40 to $60 (most likely to compensate for the lack of interest in attending)
3) i graduated with around 400 classmates..and last time i checked only about 50 people were attending the reunion.
4) it is at this this trashy-trying-to-be-hip bar in the financial district called The Black Rhino. $60 gets you in the door at 7PM, and an open bar (but NO MARTINIS!!) until 10pm. at 10pm..the floor that was rented out for our reunion becomes open to the public. so you basically have to leave at 10 or be forced to buy your drinks and mingle with the "cool kids" that frequent that bar for the rest of the night
i'm still going though. why not? if nothing else it will make for a GREAT story later on. and i am pretty positive that I see everyone who is going on a somewhat regular basis anyway. (something you should know about my town: hardly anyone ever leaves. most of the people i went to high school with still live at home/near home and work either in the town in which case I run into them at the mall, Chile's, Pond Meadow or in Boston in which case i run into them on the T or in the Pru/Copley mall or in the Fanuil Hall bars). So the best I am hoping for is to get some great gossip (such as that someone else's engagement ring is fake) and get pretty damn drunk with the girls i am going with.
now..what to wear?
