well, i survived my high school reunion.

i wouldn't say that i just survived it....i f*cking ROCKED it!

ast night i went with jeanne to jill's pad in the North End to pregame before the BHS class of 1998 reunion. we drank about a bottle and a half of white wine, and once danielle and jill's date john arrived..we were off!!

the party was in a small room of the back rhino. thank god it WAS small because only about 30-40 people came and had we been in a large airy ballroom, well that would have just been embarrassing.

so i snagged my first of several drinks (it WAS open bar after all) and did what i set out to do: i mingled. i literally spoke to everyone in the room for at least 3 minutes each. i gossiped with the gossipers and found out some things that i thought were true were not, and other things i knew not to be true were actually true! (very scanadalous). for instance: i found out from K.H that J.H.'s engagament ring is NOT fake, and I also found out that A.L did not meet her pro hockey player husband while working the perfume counter at the downtown Macy's). of course, i am now armed with a whole new slew of gossip that is my duty to spread around until the next reunion, when i can once again be proven wrong..it was all very hilarious and very interesting. i reconnected with alot of people that i haven't even seen/spoken to since high school, and as the my collection of empty wine glasses grew, became best friends with people who i never even spoke to in high school. i love drunk people.

i think my own personal highlight has to do with a fellow class of 98-er named J, who we all know was involved in a fight in the weymouth dunkin donuts and ended with him getting shot in the head (he was fine) ....now, as soon as i saw him i knew who he was but i couldn't just blurt out "omg you got shot!" however much i wanted to talk to him about it. so instead, i opted for the more smooth "hey, what was your last name again? where dp i know that from....oh yeah! you got shot didn't you? how'd that go?"

haha!

the circle we were standing in at the time involved S, who did go to my school and someone's husband, who did not, and who did not know about the shooting so we got all the gory details from beginning to end. I told him he looked fantastic for someone who got shot in the head! he was psyched about it, i could tell. although he would not take of his hat and show us his scar no matter how much we all begged. well, maybe at the 10 year reunion...

so, i was resolved to leave before 10pm, because i knew i was 1) getting very drunk and thus 2) would be unable to deal with the influx of people that would arrive when it was free and open to the public at 10PM...so i called my rescuer: Adam, who picked danielle and i up and carried us off into the night.

also: i saw National Treasure on Thursday night and i loved it. I love action movies with a historical context..and as such I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Also, i am in love with Nic Cage which may have influenced my opinion as well....
