when adam and i first moved in together, i was really the most excited about getting to sleep in his bed ALL the time.
not really for the obvious romantic reasons, but because he has a pillow-top mattress which is so unbelievable comfortable. it's like sleeping on, well, a pillow.
but now, i must confess, the bloom is off the rose. this bed is so uncomfortable lately that when i wake up in the morning, all my joints hurt (especially my shoulders and neck). i wake up 2-3 times a night because half or mattress related pain, and when i get out of bed in the morning, i am bent over with back pain. i am a real old lady now. i thought i was a soft-bed person. clearly i am not.
it looks like Bob-o-Pedic is in our very near future.

Wait! First, hello! How are you?! Second - my fug co-worker has one of those Bob-o-pedic's (except some name brand version - which he feels the need to talk about how it's name brand and therefore was really expensive, ugh). Anyway, so all he talks about is his bed. First how AWESOME it was that he was getting one of those foam beds, of course how expensive it was, and NOW ALL HE DOES IS COMPLAIN! He says that after the first month of 'awesomeness' the bed is not what it was cracked up to be. I guess his back is in pain (poor fug baby). Truth be told, I just like to mock him and his AWESOME EXPENSIVE BED. I might be a little rude, but, really - he asked for it.
But try and get a bed from one of those places that lets you try it out for like a month or so - you may like it a lot, which would be fab - but if you don't you won't be in that fug's position.
I wish I could recommend a bed - not that I don't love mine, cause I absolutely do, but all it is is the second cheapest Mattress Discounter's matress with an egg crate/foam thing on top (that I got at Homegoods fro like $15!) on a futon frame. G-H-E-T-T-O.
Good luck in the bed hunt!!
sorry about that annoying fug! thats why i like bob's..there's like a 20 year guarantee on it...and its the knockoff version of the tempurpedic which i could never afford.
Fugs, this one in particular, are annoying - but at least they provide some good story material.

Think air. We had a sleep number bed that allowed us both to have the firmness we wanted/needed.
