Why Owning a Black Car in New England Can Be Totally Bogus
Because once the first real snow of the season hits, your car is bound to look like a filthbox unless you go to the car wash pretty much every day.
And it's kind of incongruous, but in the summer when there is NOT salt and grime and grey slush all over the roads, I get my car washed every two weeks. Yet in the winter when these conditions and worse exist and coat my car daily...I am lucky if I go at all because I feel so defeatist about it all.
What's the point?
The minute I leave the car wash it will be covered in salty dirt again.
It's going to snow again in a few days anyway.
WAH.

Just went to the car wash today and was thinking about the EXACT same thing. My car is silver but still looks shiteous 10 minutes post-wash. It's pointless to even go but it was grossing me out!
Didn´t you have a blue CR-V??!!
No - never! Been driving Civics for the past eight years.
I've had my car for a year and a half and I have had it washed once maybe twice and I have washed it myself once. I'm a bad car owner.
I grew up in Stoughton Ma and wow I miss that snow and ice and how awful cars can look .
