Hair I Am!

Some people only post photos of themselves looking their best, making a cute face, wearing cute clothes. It's all very cute.

Unfortunately for you, I am not one of those people.

So, I have this newish fancy-pants blow dryer thay came with all these fancy pants attachments and the only one I ever use is the smoother because the only time I use my blow dryer is when I am straightening my hair. But I am reading the back of one of my many hair care products and it includes discussions on how to achieve EFFORTLESS FRIZZ FREE CURLS using the diffuser attachment on the fancy pants hair dryer.

Do I dare?

I sure do.

Granted, I have my PJs on and no make up but even with those things taken into consideration I I think we can agree this is something of an abomination. I didn't realize that frizz free curly hair also means large and in charge hair.

So I think we can agree the diffuser attachment is not to be used on a regular basis for Out In Public events.

But since I already have this do going on, and in honor of a certain beloved boy band of yesteryear getting back together, let's work this 'do into something I might have been wearing back in my days of pining for Donnie Wahlberg.

SWEET!

I was a big fan of the poufed out curled under bang in my day. Nice to see I STILL GOT IT.

So yeah this is how I spend my Saturday mornings, experimenting with my diffuser and modeling 80s hairstyles for my amused, if somewhat horrified, boyfriend.

Good times!

I feel like you are missing a curled UP bang above the curled UNDER one - because you then need to tease it and aqua net the shit out of it.

That's basically how I rolled 1987 - 1993. Or so.

Sweeeeeet.............

I would comb my bangs straight up, spray the shit out of them with hair spray, then BLOW DRY the hair spray on my bangs. Rock hard baby.

Also, I wore my hair in a side pony tail and krimped the ends. I kinda wish I still had my krimper.

OMG, that's hilarious?

did you sport the "blown and styled to stand up like a wall" bangs as well? must have been when i was around 14, so in the early 90ies? i'm gonna see if i can find a picture.

have a good weekend :) xoxo

LOL, you should channel your inner tween and dress like that for the reunion show.

You ARE going, right?

And I'm in agreement with E on the bangs. You need some curled up ones, too :) Then you'll be rockin' the late 80s, early 90s look.

Ladies you have a point but I confess I never did the double pouf technique..I just could not get the hang of it. I DID do the side part poufy swirl with puffed out bangs underneath though. Perhaps I will do a reshoot tomorrow and post.

I'm having an Aquanet flashback. I seriously think that us gals in the late 80s have to accept some of the responsibility for the hole in the ozone layer, myself included.

And, with that - I'll be heading back up to NJ/Philly in a month where some gals STILL wear their hair like that.

I'm officially scared.

For a while, I've been wanting to bring back big hair, and I would like to recruit you to join me on my.

I think you have a lot of potential.

The cool girls at my school all did the sprayed up bangs, with only minimal curled under bangs. I tried, cause I wanted so desparately to be them. Instead I looked more like a chola than a cool kid.
The diffuser also scares me, did you scrunch your hair as you diffused it?

I'm guilty of having rocked the poufed out, curled under bang...

...WITH MY BOWL CUT.

For every photo I destroy, five more crop up in its place.

Sarah,

You have beautiful hair. Frizz free only works if you can step out into high humidity, after styling your hair and it still maintains the look that you created. Using a diffuser is tricky because it can give you a halo of frizz even though the entire head is not frizzy. There are two ways to have complete control in any climate and not have any frizz after you step out side.

LMAO, thank you so much for a desperately needed morning laugh!! You know though, you honestly look about 12 years old in that second picture. Styling your hair circa 1987 really makes you look like a kid again!!
