NABLOPOMO in the House!

* I am definitely wearing a Nan skirt today. Nan (short for Nana), is any style of clothes that a Nana might wear. In my case it is a pleated knee length skirt in a weird brown, green and purple pattern that I bought at TJ Maxx last year because I saw it and thought "WOW that is a Nana skirt if I ever saw one" and of course immediately had to have it. I enjoy Nan style, I don't mind telling you. And if you like wearing suede flats, pleated knee length skirts and cardigans over buttton down shirts than you do too. Embrace it. Nans are cool.

* My left eye would not stop twitching yesterday and it was the most disconcerting thing ever. My coworkers that I consulted (read: complained to) all seemed to agree it must be stress related although I don't really FEEL stressed. However I never feel stressed and instead stress manifests itself physically usually through stomach aches, the need to chain smoke and, in this case, non stop god damn eye twitching. I will tell you something else too, do not look to Google to solve the mysteries of your body. According to Google, random eye twitching is spelled B-R-A-I-N -T-U-M-O-R. I am a hypo people, I don't need this!

* Word to the wise: if you are going to be away from your desk at work for a while, be sure and turn the volume down because while the Annie Lennox you have on softly is easy to kind of ignore and forget about, your coworkers will be less than thrilled when that playlist ends and Leslie Carter's "It's Like Wow!*" starts blaring out and no one can turn down the volume because your computer automatically locks after 10 minutes. Oops.

* Happy November, and Happy NABLOPOMO! Look forward to more random shiz like this if I am to post every day!

*What? that's a good song.

I love Nan clothes! Especially for work. There is something very positive to be said for embracing your inner conservative (dresser)!

If you have a skin rash, don't google that either. Or, especially do not google image search "rashes" - don't do it!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that dresses like a Nana.

If I have to hear Man bitch about his eye twitch one more time, I'm going to tell him it's a brain tumor. Thanks for the ammo.

And danielle, Nablopomo IS like NAMBLA but instead of men and boys its people and BLOGS.

Hubby the pharmacist says that the eye twitch is actually from lack of sleep. Apparently, one becomes lacking in a certain chemical in the body when sleep deprived, that causes the twitch. Mine twitch constantly.

I totally rock the Nan style myself. Most of my Nan clothes are authentic right from Gramma's closet. Everything from her furs to awesome old school Hermes scarfs. I have days when I look a little Gramma Garbo. I love it.

YES I should have clarified that my Nonni was a sylish dresser - so when I say I dress like a Nan I mean it in a really positive way. Unfortch she was about 4'11 and weighed 90 lbs so I am not rocking her exact clothes...but she plays a big role in what I think of as elegant.

I don't have a Nan, but I'm definately a Gran dresser. My Granny rocked the knee high leather boots with knee length skirts...That's the shiznit right there.

This NaBloPoMo is killing me already and its on the second day. I hope MeMe's count.

It's not a tumor!

(Go back and read that with the proper Arnold/Kindercop accent.)

OMG hysterical. My girlfriends and I all use the "Nana" term. Sometimes it's a Nana Outfit; in the summer, if when a girl is wearing a short skirt and she's a little dehyrdated -- we've been known to tell a girl if she's got "nana knees".

Now, in a very fashionable sense, I did buy the best Franco Sarto GRANNY knee high boots that are just gorgeous. Funny, big difference between Nana Shoes and Granny boots! hahaha.
