Wiki Wild

I love the iGoogle homepage because you can set up basically anything to be on that page: your Blog Reader, Gmail Inbox, Weather and less every day stuff such as Artwork of the Day, Recipe of the Day, Dictionary, etc.

I also have the "Wiki How" of the day installed on there because you know, every now and then something really useful comes up that I can tell later I will be psyched I know how to do.

For instance, let's go over what my three "Wiki How"s of the day are today.

These are all things one might need to know how to do one day, especially the hobo one. What if the industrial/utilitarian trend in handbags goes so far as to bring back the bindle stick?

Best to be prepared, right? Thanks to Wiki How - now I am.

I couldn't stop laughing at this. As if there's some 100k a year executive looking at his homepage this morning: "You know I'm tired of this, I should really look into becoming a hobo... How does that work anyway?"

haha Kim I know. I also have "How to Braid a Horse's Mane" which you know, may come in handy if I am faced with a horse who is having a bad hair day.

And if I ever shoot a man in cold blood while the coffin maker is out of town...I'm set! Thanks iGoogle!

I always have a chuckle over those. I have to say, I'm a little disappointed that everyone gets the same ones. I'm not sure if I thought that iGoogle selected topics it felt might help you to become a better person (or hobo) or if I thought it selected them at random, but I feel like the world could be a much richer place if everyone got different ones every day. You know, people formerly at odds coming together to share with one another the best way to build a secret laboratory or do aerial cartwheels. Dare to dream.

today there is "how to braid a horse's mane" ... i wonder when this will come in handy ;)

Apparently you can make your pant legs wider to hide weapon, build a coffin to bury your victim and escape the scene disguised as a hobo. Handy.

I love IGoogle. :)
I even have my blog as a widget...granted it's only a mini-cache version, but still - considering the "evil empire" I work at blocks blogs, it's a fun way to still feel connected. :)
