My super-talented friend Nicole has opened up an internet store to showcase her marvelous art work. She specializes in children's book illustrations and now has her fabulous drawings adorning baby clothes, christmas ornaments and cards (and she is just getting started!)

My faves are the karate koala

And the snow penguin ornament

Is it me or are penguins HUGE this season? I see them everywhere. I am really into it. IN any case I ordered one this morning and am going to hang it in my cubicle.

So, GO! Visit her shop and look around and be impressed. The girl is talented!

I love penguins!! I went on a date to the Aquarium last year and spent an hour standing at the penguin exhibit, enthralled and not talking. Hmm ... wonder why that didn't work out. ;)

Me too! Have you seen crate and barrel's christmas stuff this season? It's like ALL penguins. So cute. Nicole is clearly a trendsetter.

Thanks for the free advertising, Sarah!!! I'll have to add more stuff to the site. It took me half the evening last night just to get a couple things up.
The problem with a free cafepress shop is that they only allow you to sell a catagory with ONE design on it. For example: I can sell those penguin ornaments but if I wanted to sell a karate koala ornament, I can't. I would need to take down my penguin ornaments and put up koala ones. So, that kind of stinks. But you really can't beat a free online shop, so oh well.
If I actually start selling stuff from the site, I'll think about upgrading. You can get a shop that you pay for monthly. But you have a ton more options. I also have a "real" website that I'll be working on. I have loads of ideas. I can't wait to get that one up! I'll send you the link when it's done. (o;

Hooray! My first sale! (o:
You'll have to let me know how the quality is when you get it. I'm curious because I've yet to order anything off of cafepress. I just do the designs, they do all the printing and shipping.

Since you guys are my first customers, I'll take requests! I have a cute Mother Goose illustration that I'll probably toss up there tonight on some product or another. And I'm currently working on a hedgehog munching on a slice of melon. That'll probably be a bib design.
Here's a link to a few other illustrations if you want make a suggestion for other products with any of these designs on them:

I'm thinking about upgrading my store from free to not free. LOL. It's not too expensive, but there will be a ton more options and I can sass up my page. Plus, I'll be able to sell more than one thing in each catagory. I'll let you know as soon as it's up and running. (o:

P.S. Just to clarify: "Not free" meaning not free for me to run it!

Nicky -- just do it through your own website and set up a merchant account through paypal. That's how I sell my stuff -- that also of course means you have to print the stuff yourself instead of through cafe press ... I'm not sure if that's something you want to do, but the wayI do it is SUPER easy.

Jenny, you read my mind! That's exactly how I was planning to sell my fine art stuff. (Hand-sculpted ornaments, small paintings, etc) My bro-in-law is a web guy and was going to help me figure it out. I will probably just use cafepress as a secondary site for less expensive items that I don't feel like printing up myself. Me = lazy. Lol. I'd love to see your site, can you post a link?
