Although I love where I work, and in general will take driving over public transport anyday....commuting to Newton from Quincy each day can occasionally be a little, what's the word?

Maddening?

Especially on days like this. When the traffic report for your usual route home says

And as you are thinking to yourself "Well, I guess I can take the Pike", you get this email from a coworker.

The MassPike is backed up with no access to 93 South or North due to an accident plan accordingly and check traffic reports for further updates

It is a shame that sipping from a flask of bourbon while driving is frowned upon.

That's one of the few things I don't miss about Mass - that damn traffic... and the Pike.. eesh! Troopers hiding here and there just to rack up their tallys.

Hope you aren't in traffic too long tonight...

They do have a cute pink flask over at ZGallerie, btw - should you be discreet about your bourbon, I mean soda ;)

I have to say, since I started taking the bus to work, the one truly great thing is that, even if there is traffic, it's not my problem. It's the bus driver's. I've got my MP3 player and a place to sit. Screw you guys, I'm going home :)

Oh yes, I do remember ever so fondly the days when I lived in Brighton and my then boyfriend lived in Dorchester and I would just sit in traffic FOREVER, cursing out the big and disastrous dig. WHAT A PAIN IN THE ARSE!!! lol.
