Happy First Day of Summer!
I have to say, normally Summer is my least favorite season because I loathe being hot and because of the dastardly implications for my hair. However the former will not be as big a problem this year because Adam and I have purchased several fans for the apartment and at the moment are hunting down a second AC. Two ACs + Three room apartment = my kind of good time.
As as for the latter, well you all gave me some great advice recently and as I plow my way through the hair products that were suggested, I must say I am VERY pleased with the results. The Potion #9 is to die. Seriously.
And so this Summer shall be a fabulous summer indeed. Plans include
* A Chicago/Huey Lewis concert AND A Steely Dan concert (the announcement of which created a flurry of speculation on Myspace.com as to whether I am really, in fact, a 50 year old man).
* Trip(s) to P-Town for shopping excursions, and perhaps an overnight stay or two.
*Camping in Maine (maybe. Adam is trying to wear me down. if we camp near the Kittery Outlets I may be persuaded.)
*Finding a new, bigger, fabulous apartment, or at least one with a dishwasher.
*Buying myself a fantastic piece of jewlery. My mom has inspired me with her search for the perfect pave diamong ring and so to that search we shall add the search for something sparkly and epic for me as well. I work hard. I deserve (to finance) nice things!
*The advent of the mojito. I haven't had one yet this season. And although they say "mojitos, mo' problems". Those are the kinds of problems I can afford to have.
*Exploring the beaches of the Cape. Towards the end of last summer, when we got sick of Horseneck Beach (although it is lovely), Adam and I ventured down the Cape to check out Scusset and Sandy Neck. We intend to make many more trips like that this summer. (If you have any reccomendations please let me know!)
Now that I have made this here list I am even more psyched than I thought I was. Go summer!

Sounds like you have a bang up summer planned. If you get a chance check out some of the beaches (like Chapin or Mayflower) in Chatham. They are peaceful and clean (and chapin allows dogs :). You can grab a fabulous drink here http://www.chathambarsinn.com/ and Silver Winds Jewelery Company in Chatham has some great very unique things. I discovered these a couple of years ago and I can't help but gush about them --Lori
Steely Dan? That's the shiznit, in my book.
Better yet would be a Steely Dan/Boz Scaggs tour.
zippy - i don't know who you are but i think i love you. boz scaggs = the sh*t!!
lori - thank you!! these are the kinds of tips i am looking for!
Marconi beach is really nice - it's like 30 min from P-town on the Cape, so you could make it a 2-in-1 deal!
I just bought tickets to see Lynyrd Skynyrd in concert at the State Fair. If that doesn't say summer, I don't know what does!
my favorite beach on the cape is cold storage in dennis, it's a little smaller and quieter than mayflower and it's got an awesome jetty that you can walk out on and watch boats and fishermen etc. i suggest eating at the yarmouth house on 28, and i recently got a tip from someone else suggesting that i check out the british beer company (bar) in hyannis. it's supposed to be awesome! for shopping... i always end up in used bookstores on the cape, don't know why.
My personal faves are Ballston Beach in Truro, Race Point in Provincetown (allows dogs!), and of course, Cahoon Hollow Beach just below the Beachcomber. I'll be down in Truro myself in July - can't wait!
sweet!! i will add these all to my list of Beaches To Do!
G&T = a must have of course! I even picked up my first bottle of Big House Pink for the summer!

I come over from Alisa's blog, which I got to via Snazzykat, which I got to via FlutterGlubMeow, who used to work with me in TV in South Carolina.
And the best concert I've seen in years was a Styx/Pat Benetar tour a few years back. Nostalgia rocks!
My favorite place in the whole world is Christmas Cove, check it out.
