The last two weeks of the year are notoriously slow in this business (and probably in all business but retail), so I have had a really obvious amount of downtime in the office. I saw “obvious” because people have been like “Hey. You’re not busy right now so can you help me out with this?” and truth be told I don’t mind since when it is SUPER busy in January I will collect on all favors. So, a coworker asked me if I could help him out with a personal favor. I agreed, since personal favors are usually more fun than business favors.

He asked me if I could find the lyrics to Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” . I was like “Are you kidding? Do you want me to get up on the desk and sing the entire song into a pen right here and now?”. But no, he said, the lyrics were enough thank you very much.

So I found the lyrics immediately and was like “Now what?” and he asked me to email it to him, because people over the age of 40 don’t know about Google, did you know? So I emailed them and that was that.

What a favor.

Then 5 minutes later he comes to my desk and says “I need to plagiarize the lyrics, and then I’m going to email it back to you and would you mind making it all pretty for me?”. And I am like “Plagiarize? What do you mean?”. I mean I know what it means but how can you plaigerize a song? Especially such a well known song!

“No, no. Not PLAGIARIZE” he said. “Pleasurize!”, I’m changing the lyrics and make them all sexy and give it to my boyfriend.

Um, and I have to not only read it, but “Make it all pretty?”

Woah. This just got a whole lot more “personal” than I thought it would be.

PLEASURIZE. Good god.

Way to ruin a perfectly perfect song.

You HAVE to post a snippet of the "pleasured" version unless work people read your blog. What a hoot!!
