Confession time.
I don't wash my hair every day.
In fact, usually I don't even wash it every second day, barring me falling into an ocean or gym.
In fact, I am going on day 3 as we speak and my hair looks FANTASTIC. I mean I have the trifecta of hair adgetives going on here, we are talking Straight, Smooth& Sleek. Nothing that any stylist can ever achieve for me. This kind of perfection calls for at least 2 shampoo-less days, if not 3 or 4.
And when I tell people, like I am now, I always get the "Oh my GOD I cannot even skip a day of shampooing or my hair is a greasebucket". Well, here is where the curse of the curly head comes in handy..curly hair is usually also really dry hair (especially if you are a curling-iron slinging, hair-dryer happy gal like myself) and dry hair loves to hang out. Dry hair tells shampoo to talk to the hand because it wants to party for a few days.
And partying we are.
And part of me believes this must have something to do with my aversion to hippies. They are not so much into the daily hair washing either, so maybe there is a bit of a self loathing thing going on there?
In any case, a good hair day, no matter how it is achieved, is always a good thing. Right?

my mom and sister can go days without washing their hair too, but i am one of the "omg greasebucket" people. it's gotten less as i've gotten older, but i still feel itchy by the about noon if i don't wash my hair everyday. but yay for good hair days!

You know I'm with you. The 3rd day after a shampoo is always the best. I can even eke out a 4th or a 5th day if I'm careful with the amount of product I goop up in this mess.

I can usually go for about 3-4 days...I have curly hair and whenever I straighten it...it better not rain or get wet...as it takes forever!! :)
I have curly (thus dry) hair, but i HAVE to wash it every day. It would probably do better if i did an "every other day" thing, but i just feel icky.
That, and my curls turn into medusa-like tangles.
