on saturday my mom called me up in the morning and said the three words every girl longs to hear

"let's go shopping"

and with that we headed out to our favorite store to shop at together:the Talbots outlet.

now, i know what most people think about Talbots. "mom clothes" - right? well i have never found that to be true. yes, you can find a fair share of pleated khakis in their stores, but in most stores i find that if you look hard enough you can find something truley heinous. anyway, their clothes are classic, and extremely well made. i wouldn't buy an oxford button down from anywhere else. they have fabulous work/apres work appropriate dresses, and don't even get me started on their orgasm-worthy italian leather shoes.

so, let's see how i did

*one graqhic print jersey dress with asymetrical neckline: regularly $189, marked down to $79, on the 75% off rack = $20.50

*one eggplant colored three quarter sleeve knee length knit dress with bow neckline: regularly $180, marked down to $68, on 75% off = $17

*one deep red, knee length flared wool skirt regularly $190 marked down to $50, on a 30% off rack = $35

*one pair of deep red crocodile leather high heeled pointy toed pumps regularly $115 marked down to $41, with another 35% off = $27

grand total without sale-craziness = $674
with sale craziness = $99.50
total saved = $574.50

now that is the kind of math i can get behind.
so, if you have a Talbots outlet near you than GO. for the love of god GO.
(and if you live around here, there is one in Hingham)
