WORD TO THE WISE

If something is labeled "Limit One Per Customer" at Shaw's Supermarket, especially if it is labeled as such" because of Hurricane Katrina", especially if each item is individually labeled "Limit One". Do NOT try and pull a fast one by peeling the stickers off and stocking up in your shopping cart. You will be busted before you even leave the "Baking Goods" aisle.

And it will not be pretty. You may even be asked "Don't you even CARE about Hurricane Katrina victims!?"

Yeah.

Are there that many Katrina refugees in New England? Or were they planning on mailing the baked goods? I'm all for the relief effort, but some people might be taking it a bit too far...

i have no idea. the sign hanging in front of the sugar just said "Due to hurricane KAtrina, please limit one bag per customer" like that was self explanatory.

Probably has more to do with the supply side issue--the succession of hurricanes has rather screwed up sugar production and processing

I can't imagine what it would have to do with refugees, though.
