so, i have been trying to work this headband look
(in the privacy of my own home, don't worry!)
its not really a headband, actually. it's one of those belt/sash/headband type deals. it's black and sequiny, kind of sheer. it works fabulously as a belt, and the little tag that came attached to it DID show the model also wearing it on her head, headband style like so.
but unfortunately, with my ginourmous head and inability to tie a proper knot i end up looking more like this
not that Mark Knopfler isn't fly, because we all know he is. it's just not the KIND of fly i was hoping for.
oh well. lesson learned: just because something looks good as a belt, does not mean it belongs on your head no matter WHAT the model on the tag says.

i rock the long headband look a lot because, well, i have bad hair. it's really hard to do it if you have a silk(y) scarf because it falls, i have really thin cotton ones that work a lot better. don't give up! then again, we could dress up as dire straits...i know that's what you really want! <3 danielle
I can't pull it off either, but my roommate does it all the time. She has really short hair, so it works, but sometimes she needs bobby pins for those scarfs that are a bit more slippery.
