Happy St. Patrick's Day!

when i was in pre school, one of the teacher's decided to do something fun for us kids on St Patrick's Day. so, during nap time she got a little foot-shaped stamp and made hundreds of green foot prints all over the rec room, and left little pots of green jellybeans in each of our cubby holes, so we would think that leprachauns had snuck in and left us treats!

unfortunately, since we were all about four years old and didn't even know what leprechauns were, we were scared out of our wits. and when this teacher showed me a picture of what a leprechaun looks like i cried hysterically. and i continued to cry because some boy told me that if you eat a green jelly bean you turn into a leprechaun, and i had already eaten 3. it was all very traumatic.

now, luckily i know what St. Patrick's Day is really about, and that is drinking. so tonight i will be with my friends at Bad Abbott's..the most irish of irish bars, swilling black & tans, possibly some green beer and even more possibly a green martini or two.
