if boston drivers are considered some of the rudest drivers in the country, it has to be because rudeness is a neccessity when navigating the traffic in the city. i am learning this more and more every day. no one cares if you let them go in front of you, and most likely if you let someone cut in front of you, 5 or 6 cars will speed right behind him and you will miss your green light. and there is NO such think as vehicular karma. If you let someone into your lane out of the goodness of your heart, there will be no such luck for you when you need to get to your exit. and it has to be said that someone should start a Boston Drivers Radio Station, where asshole drivers are reported and retributed. For instance, you would hear things like "Attention drivers near exit 18 in the left lane heading North on 93: Do not let the blue pickup truck into the lane! He is trying to avoid the traffic in that lane by cutting ahead in the lane next to it. I repeat: do not let him in!". Because often times I see someone complete a true driving asshole move, such as purposefully going in a turn only lane only to cut everyone off in the correct lane at the last minute. My radio station would prevent this sort of injustice.
I really do take driving to heart. I am not a religious person, and the only time i pray is when i am sitting in my car saying things like "PLEASE don't let this guy get in the lane". it hardly ever works, but it makes me feel better when they don't get in. I feel like "ha! see what i did!"
