well, this morning i got all the way to North Quincy T Stop before i realized that i had forgotten my wallet at home. this meant i had no money for 1) parking and 2) getting on the train. i tried to reason with the mute parking attendant, but she was having none of my :i come here every day, i can poay you tomorrow". so i was forced to drive the 15 minutes back home and then 15 minutes back to North Quincy and thus I was half an hour late for work.. not that auspicious of a start to the day.
and now i sit at my desk, working on a project involving esearching the Fortune 500 companies in massachusettes...did you know BJ's Wholesale Club is on this list??i guess all those 500-roll packs of tp payed off...
at least last night was a blast. adam and i took in a sox game at fenway, complete with beer, swedish fish and drunken shenanigans (more involving the people around us since i am unable to get drunk at fenway since i 1) can't drink beer and 2) am not a fan of "malternatives" and 3) cannot stomach paying $7 for 1/4 a glass of wine, and feel kind of like a poofter anyway, drinking wine at a baseball game) but anyway, the guys sitting next to us were both very drunk and, as can be guessed, very funny. they had little cheers for each player when he got up to bat..(among them: "oooooooortiz!" and "bell!...horn!....bell!....horn!" which adam joined in with "mark" until i silenced him with a punch to the knee). in the end, the sox lost miserably and adam and i left in the beginning of the ninth inning. we decided, rather than board the mobbed T, we would walk to the pru and get some krispy kreme donuts to while away the time. after we had got some original glazed, we took a seat on a bench in the pru(dential building) to relax when who should walk by, but thse guys
so, in my oh-so-cool fashion, i hissed to adam "omg, that's chris robinson" to which he replied "CHRIS ROBINSON!?" and took off after him. after five minutes he returned, and confirmed that it was, in fact monsieur robinson. we giggled, giddy from our brush with fame, and ran off to the T. truth be told, it was pretty cool.
i have a feeling there will be alot of other brushes with fame here on newbury st as the democratic convention is upon us. perhaps this time next week i will be dining on calamari at sonsie with anthony keidis?
