the train was so crowded the morning. now, i have no illusions: i know that as a public transportation rider i can expect a modicum of discomfort when i board the train: screaming babies, people with a lack of hygeine, LL Bean backpacks brushing against me, and i am not about to complain about that. but this morning was simply not to be borne. the train was packed, and i mean packed like if there were a sox game, bruins game and a patriots ralley all in one night. i boarded the train and immediately looked around for a pole, wall, anything i might use to steady myself (and i made the unfortunate decision of wearing my new light blue stiletto sandals and while they look extremely cute if i do say so myself..they make balance an issue even when i am on solid, non-moving ground)as i reached blindly into the crowd i grasped a pole with my fingertips and prayed that this minimal contact would be enough to support me on the lurching train. unfortunately, a rather petite indian man took it upon himself to use my akward positioning to settle himself ander my arm, with his face in my breasts and his huge stomach butressed against my nether region. i found this unacceptable, of course.... a face in my breasts is nice every once in a while but not on the train first thing in the morning. so i tried to turn but was literally packed in the position. to move would mean certain plunging into the crowd, probably to crush the myriad tiny asian women who surrounded me. so i steadied on, and dealt with this until South Station when i was finally able to move far and away.
this sort of thing is not cool.
