don't you think that working with funny people is so much better than working with non-funny people?

around these parts, funny is hard to come by. well, at least in my office. the sales division of the company i work for is actually split into two offices directly across the street from one another. unfortunately, all the funny people are in the other office and i am stuck over here in a wit vacuum. c'est la vie though, i suppose.

one guy i work with in particular is hilarious. he is one of those types that give people nicknames. instead of being irritating though, it is cute and funny. for instance: i will call across the street and ask for charles, and he will reply "chuckles stepped away from his desk!". that sort of thing. i like it.

my new M.O. at worm is Operation Relentless Cheer. i basically smile all day long and am mind numbingly pleasant and cheerful no matter what is asked of me. Want me to mail all your personal mail for you? no problem!! Need a bus schedule?? i would be happy to look it up online, print it out and fax it to you even though you have internet capabilities at your home. Are you a tall man who "doesn't feel like" changing the light bulbs in your office? Even though I am in a skirt and heels, I would like nothing more than to stand on a chair and do that for you.

It sounds pathetic, I know, but I have to do all this BS anyway, since my work vocab does not include the word "no", I find that If i am determined to be psyched about it, I am at least not really mad about it. The power of the mind is amazing sometimes.... and luckily so is the power of the martini.
