I have such a thing for boxed wine. They say "Life is too short to drink cheap wine", but really I think they mean "Life is too short NOT to drink boxed wine." Let's do the math:

One 750 ml bottle of Sauvignon Blanc : $15:99
vs.
One 5 liter box of Chablis Rose: $8.99

I mean, really, there is no contest. And the boxed wine comes with the handy twisty spigot. I have an inkling that perhaps boxed wine is not classy, but neither is Zhenka Vodka, and the latter flows like the former around these parts, so I think it's all good.

Friday night brought the first meeting of the Drunk GIrls Book Club. This week's featured work: The Stranger by Albert Camus. We sat around Jill's living room, armed with plastic fourescent glasses of wine and discussed this book into the ground. As can be expected, the more wine drunk was directly proportionate to the level of volume increase of the discussion which we eventually abandoned in favor of smoking cigarettes on the balcony while listening to Pink Martini. The next meeting is July 25th during which we will be discussing Voltaire's Candide, if you would like to join in. You must either be drunk or a girl, the choice is yours entirely.

Another point of interest; this Friday night i will be hosting a Sangria & Tapas party chez moi in Braintree, and all are welcome to attend. The time is 9:30, the attire is slightly Spanish. There will be music and dancing and eventually some singing as well. If you would like to attend feel free to drop me an email. And yes, there will be boxed wine.
