as my brother (and Dr Dre) once said to me: " It is hotter than a motherf*cker up in heeah."

in local news, the past week has been a whirlwind of activity despite the usual stagnancy of working only part-time. on monday night i attended my first ever boston red sox game. now, i am not a sports fan on any level but i have to admit i had a smashing time at the game. meaghan and i bonded with the 15 year old southern boys sitting behind us who later became our backup singers when we serenaded our whole section with "Build me up Buttercup." at the end of the night one of the boys tapped me on the shoulder thanked meaghan and i for being the friendliest people he'd met in boston. of course i replied "don't thank me, thank the guy who'se selling the beer." ;-) after the game, we joined mike and the gang at jillians where we played only games that entailed shooting a gun.

tuesday night was perhaps the best night i have had in ages. meaghan and i met up with the fabulous missy-from nyc and emily and partied in Harvard Square to see Missy's man's band Yerba Buena at the House of Blues. We first pregamed with the band in their Road-Rules esque RV, shots of tequila with no chaser, an what! And then made our way over to HOB to drink and dance ourselves silly to the dazling cuban-bunevista social club-meets-the roots-meets-junot diaz stylings of Yerba Buena. Here's what I like about Spanish music: It can be about something totally offensive and sinc I have no idea what they're saying it makes no difference: Case in Point, my favorite song is entitled "La Gringa" which has an crazy salsa beat and is fun to sing along with, and the parts sung in Spanish talk about how white girls are sluts. I love it. Anyway, we salsa'd, we swing-danced, we got oodles of free drinks via our new friend Troy from Texas who later taught us how to two-step.

So now it's Friday, and tonight Meaghan and I have two double dates: will we go down to Landsdowne with Troy and the gang? Or will we hang in Fanuil Hall with the Hottie Cuban Coast Guard-ers we met in the North End a few weeks ago. The possibilities are positively endless ;-)
