i have too much spare time on my hands: sitting at home pinked-out is getting old.

anyway i just cranked out a ten page paper on Sherman Alexie’s use of humor. (he writes about the alienation Native Americans and the virtual eradication of the Native American culture.) It’s strange how, in order to drive home an ultimately serious and cynical point, writers often lace the text with humor so that the reader doesn’t find the serious theme so dark that it’s inaccessable. I wonder if this is true for people? Maybe sometimes the funniest people are really secretly the most serious, and feel the need to temper their interactions with other people with jokes and sarcasm, so that the true depth of their character is not penetrated? Hmmmm I do wonder…
