On The Docket

This week was incredibly l-o-o-ng. I was trying to figure out WHY it was so long when I realized that it is the first five day work week I have had in ages - due to holidays, and having to use up vacation days I rolled over from last year (what a tough row to hoe!). Yikes.

But at least it's FRIDAY! And it's supposed to be a GORGEOUS weekend.

That passes for positively balmy these days!

This weekend looks to be a busy one. Tonight will be relatively low key though. I have some errands to run after work. I have undertaken a spring "refreshing" of our living room. Since we have a neutral palette in there I like to switch out the pillows/curtains/accessories every so often and it really makes the room look like it was totally redecorated!

This year's re-do was inspired in part by my birthday gift from Andy - the Pink Gurgling Cod. I have wanted one for ages so it was a wonderful surprise! Thanks boo!

In any case I will be making a trip to Crate and Barrel, TJ Maxx and Pier One at some point in the near future, possibly at least one of them tonight. Though my BIG plan for tonight is to order pizza and watch Inglorious Basterds with Adam. While wearing sweatpants. Sweatpants are KEY.

Anyway, Saturday we are going to Whiskey-Extravaganza at Luke's Liquors. For $5 you get a tasting glass and access to the 90 single malt scotches and other whiskeys they will be sampling that day. It's a great eay to learn more about scotch and find out what you like. I would reccomend taking the tiniest of sips though, unless you want to be tanked by the 10th or so tasting. Not that that happened to me last year or anything.

Following that we are spendning the night volunteering at the Cure Me I'm Irish party at the Tirrell Room in Quincy. It's a St. Patrick's themed party with Irish music, dancing, food, drink, raffles and a silent auction. All proceeds benefit the NB Alliance, to support innovative neuroblastoma research and clinical trials. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased here. If you're in the area and looking to party on Saturday night and help a great cause - definitely check it out!!

That brings us to Sunday and with that, LAMB JAM!

I like to troll the Boston Chefs calendar to find fun things to do and when I saw The Charles Hotel was hosting this, the ultimate lamb taste-off, where we will also learn about the perfect beer pairings from 6 award winning local breweries and wine pairings from Middleton Family Wines, I knew I had to go. So I wrangled my fellow lamb lovers (i.e. Adam, Peter and Andy) and we got our tickets just before it sold out.

And then Sunday night we have The Oscars. I purchased some delicious cheese at Russo's yesterday which, with baguette and wine, we will enjoy while watching the festivities. Adam doesn't know this yet but I plan on making him watch as well. (With enough wine anything is possible)

And now if you will excuse me I am off in search of a Shamrock Shake

Lamb Jam sounds AWESOME.

Sounds like a fabulous weekend you have planned! My Friday night will also be on the couch, in sweats, with a movie. Pizza is lunch tomorrow though I think. :)

I hate to say it but that is my fave Friday night activity!
