This and That

Adam and I have implemented two new routines. Of course for us once we do something once and enjoy it, we say "Let's make this a routine" but nine times out of ten we get bored with it after a while.

In this case we decided last weekend to go to a new beach every Saturday morning and a movie every Sunday morning. Last week we hit Duxbury Beach on Saturday and then saw The Incredible Hulk on Sunday. This past weekend we went to one of my favorite local beaches, Horseneck Beach in Westport. I have been coming to this beach since I was little and always loved the soft sand and surprisingly (for Massachusetts) warm water and insane waves. We packed up my car early in the morning with a cooler, blanket, chairs, all the usual beach shiz and hit the road at 9AM. We didn't leave the beach until 3PM and spent most of the time in the water diving into waves which explains why we are both a little more pink than we would like. Waterproof sunscreen evidently is only waterproof if you get out of the water every so often and reapply. Good times!

We saw The Dark Knight on Saturday and it was really good. To be honest I had no interest in seeing it but we bargained that if we saw that this week, we could see the X Files movie next week (which I am really psyched about). In any case I was very impressed with the movie, especially Heath Ledger's performance. I would reccomend anyone see it, even if you think it's not the kind of movie you would like. It's visually stunning, fast paced (especially for a LONG movie) oh and also Christian Bale? He is a tad easy on the eyes wouldn't you say?

Moving on, our living room AC also finally crapped out this weekend for good and, being that it was 100 degrees on Saturday, this just will not do. So we bought a new one and I FINALLY solved our No Door To The Living Room problem and bought a tension rod and a "thermal" curtain that is actually kind of cute. It works like a charm and is a lot better looking than the "Hanging Sheet with Thumb Tacs" look we had going on before.

And now I solicit some advice: Adam and I are planning a trip to the Carribean for January/February of next year. He has never been and I have not been in years since I spent a week in St John with my mom (which was fasntastc, btw but we want to go some place that neither of us has been before). We would like to stay at an all inclusive resort and I know a lot of you guys proabbly did stuff like that on your honeymoon or for other reasons so any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated!

Club Med used to be the cheaper way, so that's where I went. If you are a diver, the Turks and Caicos with the unlimited dive package was great. I think Cancun is really only for singles- too much picking up and random sex. My brother did Hedonism and I thinkthat's way too wild for a couple.I'm also interested to rad your replies.

I loved the Royal Carribean cruise we went on!!! We were able to see Puerto Rico (Mike can tell you about the fab resort we stayed at for a night), Aruba, St Maarten, St Thomas, and Curacao. I do NOT recommend Curacao!! St Maarten was by far my favorite and it had the best snorkeling. We got to swim with sea turtles!!

For all-inclusives in the Caribbean, I recommend any of the Palaces (Sun, Moon, Beach, Cancun) in the Mayan Riviera...those are really fun because you stay at one and have privileges to visit all the others for different pools, beaches, restaurants, etc. The Sunset Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios is good as well, and quite reasonable. Check out cheapcaribbean.com - it's my fav!

Love your blog, btw :)

My friends went to Breezes in the Bahamas and I have other friends who have gone to the Sandals resorts (in St. Lucia I believe). Breezes gets my vote for one reason only: Mudslide Machine. That's right - ready-made mudslides dispensing like coca-cola at a soda fountain. Yum!

Almond Beach Resort was great in Barbados - we won the trip. Paradise Island in Bahamas was fun too, but that wasn't all-inclusive when I went. Have fun!

Aruba is awesome. Bermuda is beautiful too and close by.

I go to the Caribbean every year. The best all inclusives I've seen were on Antigua.

I'm staying at an all inclusive in the fall in Aruba. Riu is the resort.

I wanted to recommend the Palace Resorts, but Lesley beat me to it. We've stayed at Moon, Xpu Ha, and the Aventura Spa (adults only). My parents have stayed at all of those and Nuevo Vallarta (other coast) and Sun (couples only). They also have resorts in the Dominican Republic and all over the Cancun area. We love the Palace Resorts. Just understand they will try to pull you in for the "pitch".

I have been on a cruise when I was younger and but only stayed at one resort recently. We were at the Buccaneer on St. Croix. Amazing.
http://www.thebuccaneer.com/ And St. Croix is a nice quiet island.
