I Can't Be The Only One....

So, I go food shopping at least once a week, sometimes twice. And for the past few months I have made a concerted effort to use re-useable bags not only because of the environment but because if you don't at Hannaford they will literally put one thing in each plastic bag and so for $50 worth of groceries you end up with 20 bags.

Anywho.

I seem NEVER to have these bags with me when I need them. Or if I do bring some it's not enough. Or I wait in line for twenty miutes and realize I left them in the car. And I feel like an asshole using plastic bags so I just keep buying reusable ones and now I have about fifteen of them and still today I find myself having to go to Stop and Shop to get some things for the company cookout and what do you know? NO RE-USEABLE BAGS.

Curses.

I am often faced with this same dilema so what I do is I ask to have all my groceries loaded back into my cart and I put them in the reusable bags that are in my car at my car.

Yeah, I didn't think of that. I have several "green bags" I ordered off the internet. They live in my car and I always seem to remember them as I'm standing in the checkout line. They are awesome, though--they hold about 4 times as much as those plastic bags.

I'm with you a hundred percent. I have them, I buy them when I go to the market and then when I go next time they are always at home. I keep telling myself maybe if I can remember to leave them in my car that would help, but I've tried and still no luck. I guess it's one of those things we'll just have to get used to. Besides, I can't tell you how many times I've left the market with far too many of those little plastic bags only to inevitably have one break halfway to my car. Not fun! Have a great weekend!

I used to have that problem - my solution was to buy more bags every time I forgot them, now I never forget because my car and house are filled with them.

I always forget them, or, bring the wrong bag into the wrong store - i.e. Fresh Market bags in Publix and vise versa. I'm now in the habit of putting them on the doorhandle of my front door so I grab them in the morning on my way to work and just put them in the car.

Ugh...I used to be the same way. I'm a big fan of envirosax (http://www.envirosax.com/), because they are tres chic, and also roll up into tiny little packages that take up no space at all, so it's easy to have one in your purse at all times. They come in packs of 5 or you can buy them individually, and they are cute and strong enough to use as a beach bag or for when you are traveling and know you will return with more than you started with. Check 'em out!

I always forget to put them INTO my car. They lay around my dining room forever!! OR I do forget them when they are in my car too. I like the idea of keeping stuff in the cart and then putting it into your bags when you get to the car,..very clever!

I love them becaus ethe handles are nice and long. Carrying heavy things over your shoulder is WAAAAAY easier than holding a million plastic bags in one hand and having them cut off your circulation so your hand turns purple.

Plus, I have really cute pink ones from when Stop and Shop was selling them for breast cancer and red ones from target, so I get to carry my grocieries home in my cute favorite colors! :)

I do the same thing! I try to remember to put them back in my trunk after I use them, but let's face it, I'm lazy.
