Craft-tastic!

As I alluded to in a previous post - next weekend my friend Jeanne and I are working at a little local holiday craft fair. She will be selling her amazing frosted and festive sugar cookies and I will be hawking my martini gift tags as well as a few ornaments and napkin rings.

The martini gift tags are kind of my own invention borne out of my love of a few things: martinis, for one thing. And also festively wrapped gifts.

And so unto us the martini gift tag is born. Basically it's a beaded gift tag in a martini shape

(please excuse my sad looking finger/fingernails. Working with floral wire and memory wire all day will do that to you!)

And once it's served it's purpose as a gift tag, the paper part peels off;

And it becomes an ornament!

This is more or less a prototype...these babies are still in the production stage (all over my living room)

Last year I sold them just as ornaments and while they were popular like that, the gift tag aspect ads a little more I think (especially since it's removable). I think it's perfect to tie with some ribbon on a bottle of booze you are bringing to a party as a hostess gift....or even just tied onto a gift box. I actually have a pink and green version hanging in my cubicle at work to remind me that cocktail hour is never too far away.

And then since the fair is the weekend before Thanksgiving I figured I would throw in some turkey day treats like these napkin rings

And I have some more Christmas ornaments up my sleeve but they are in pre-production (read: I am too crafted out to start on them today) so maybe I will throw up some photos of those later this week.

In conclusion, I have to say, Sundays when I don't have to work the next day are the best. All the inherent laziness of Sunday without the "oh crap WORK" sentiments that usually start kicking in around 5.

Those martini gift tags are beautiful and ingenious! You should sell them on Etsy.

Ohh, I like, very festive!! a little ring hanging down with three big green beads with little pimento beads on top, would be the perfect dirty martini!! ok, maybe just one green bead, for cost effectivness...
