Malternative Lifestyle

My history with malt beverages is short and sweet. Most of them give me heartburn and the ones that don’t contain so little alcohol I may as well be drinking a Capri Sun.

Until last weekend.

We stopped into a superette in New Hampshire on the way to cookout #2 of the day and I was not in a wine state of mind. The beer selection was less than stellar as well so I randomly perused the malternatives, coming across something called Smirnoff Raw Tea.

I figured “hey, I am on vacation. I will give it a try” (side note: I consider any time Adam and I don’t spend the night in our apartment a vacation).

Anyway, it was, in a word, Awesome.

I was pleasantly surprised. It tasted like actual iced tea, had a nice small little kick too it. Perfect for sipping at a party that is not your final destination for the evening (i.e. you don't really want to lay into a bottle of wine), or for enjoying ice cold on a deck in the late summer.

And it's always nice when a drink doesn't mean you will be chomping on Tums all night.

I am into it.

So, while at home we might roll with a bottle of Chardonnay and a six pack of Sam. On VACATION soirees we are rocking the mixed sixer:

(Yes Adam drinks PBR Tall Boys when the opportunity arises. Don't judge)

So we will be heading to New Hampshire for the weekend to relax on the banks of the Suncook river at his parents' place one last time before the season ends, me with a Raw Tea and he with his PBR Tall Boy.

Enjoy the weekend!

Though, it stinks that every weekend you guys are in NH, we are in MA. It's like a cruel twist of fate! We need to make plans when both of us are un-busy.

who is judging pbr? people who judge pbr can get a right good punch in the chin. <3 danielle

Check out the ad campaign for Smirnoff Raw Tea. It's freakin hysterical. Also, of course PBR is the best--it wouldn't have the blue ribbon if it wasn't!
