Further proof that I need a vanity table:

While getting ready for a party on Saturday night, I decided to plug my curling iron into an outlet near the couch in the living room so I could watch TV while getting ready. Of course after about 15 minutes later I got distracted and dropped the curling iron on my arm and then reflexively bent my arm in half, AROUND the iron. Bceause you know 2 second-degree burns are better than one.

And let me tell you, the picture does not do it justice.

I can't help but wonder; if this iron is capable of buring through several layers of skin....it can't be too good for my hair.

At least it looked good though.

I wish I had taken a picture of our makeshift ice packs. Adam divied up some "Frozen Vegetable Medley" into ziplock baggies and we taped them to my arm. It was superhot.

Ouch! I've been there with the "frozen veggie" ice bags - when my dad and I both broke a toe within 10 minutes of each other (I had frozen hot dogs, he had frozen peas) and a few weeks ago when I threw out my back.

They actually work well, because they mold around you better than a hard ice pack!

Hope the pain and mark go away soon. :(

I know the saying is "One must suffer for beauty" but I don't think second degree burns are part of the deal. Thank god for neosporin - that burn looks like it hurts like a !@*@#!!! :(

Yeah, I definitely have been using a bag of frozen corn on my wrist that has been hurting. Hope that burn gets better soon, it looks horrifically painful.

UUGHHH

i'm so sorry, doll!

Put some vitimin E on it - you dont want it to scar.

good call!! whats the vitamin E protocol..do you have to wait for it to heal before you start using it? do you put it into an open wound?

Try vitamin E oil. I think it is fine just to dab it right on. My hedgehog has super dry skin in the winter. Hedgie dandruff, scabby ears, the whole nine yards. I dribbled vitamin E oil on him, and how his skin is hogtastic!

im glad that you're way of selling me on Vitamin E is to tell me how much your hedgehog likes it

:-P

i wish you could bring him to my place on saturday night!

LOL. If you saw his skin, you would know that's a good selling point! And hey - he looks good and he does what he wants! (But I use it too...)

He doesn't mind car rides but he can't be out in the cold. And being in new places really pisses him off. You'll just have to come do a meet and greet in person!

vitamin E oil worked for me too... keep up with the neosporin while it's a "wound" then start alternating with the vitamin E.
