The setting: early this morning in bed, Adam and I have just woken up.
Adam: Happy Three Year Anniversary! Are you excited?
Me: I will be in a minute, hold on...
(brief pause, shuffling is heard, the bed squeaks)
Me: OH MY GOD! YES! YES! YES! YES!
Adam: This is the best anniversary gift ever, right?
Me: Oh. My. God.... You have no idea.
Clearly I am talking about searching for the remote, turning on the TV to find that the Dems have taken back the House! Hells yeah, baby!!!
Not to mention Deval Patrick kicked Kerry Healey's ass all over the place. I think they were announcing his win 5 minutes after polls closed, so enourmous was his lead.
It's about time being a Democrat paid off. I am happy to trade in my sense of bitter hopelessness for a sense of utter relief, and the restoration of my faith in the political process, and in the voters of this country.
Tonight Adam and I will be toasting more than just our third anniversary tonight at Laurel (although that is pretty damn awesome as well). Woo hoo!!
