Weekend Recap
Friday:
After wretched work, I went home and vegged out watching SATC with Adam for a while. We then met up with the Cappellas at Fuji for some sushi & wine. We all got to try eel, since it was mistakenly given to us and when we pointed out the mistake they let us keep it. surprisingly, i am a fan. it really does taste like chicken. fishy chicken. which probably sounds gross but whatevs, i was into it. Since Fuji is such a popular Quincy hangout, we were not too surprised to run into Desiree & Anthony & co. who promptly invited us all to their brand new beautiful huge beautiful house for margaritas.... did i mention this house is beautiful? it is. it gives me faith that we won't have to move to New Hampshire to be able to afford a decent house someday. not that there is anything wrong with New Hampshire.
Saturday:
woke up at 11AM which was refreshing considering i am normally up and running at 8 on weekends. i lounged around the house, watched some lifetime, watched some sleepless in seattle. at five i headed into Boston to meet my cousin Anna for dinner at the Sunset Cantina for pregaming before the Comics Come Home show at the Agganis Arena. um, i second Erin's feeling that Restaurants That Don't Take Reservations SUCK. it's true. i mean i was 1/2 an hour late meeting my cousin since the B Line SUCKS as well. but it didn't even matter that i was late since she had been waiting to get seated for like 40 minutes. and we waited another 15 minutes and decided that the Sunset Cantina SUCKS and we were not waiting anymore. So we went to Qdoba (where they serve beer, unbeknownst to me) and had a grand old time. Then we made our way over to the Agannis for the FUNNIEST SHOW EVER! I seriously had stomach pains the next day from laughing so hard. Brian Reegan is so hilarious, I can't even look at him without starting to giggle before he even SAYS anything. and then they had a surprise guest: Dane Cook! I had never seen him but I see now what all the hype is about. He is so funny that even when you retell his jokes to other people, they freak out with laughter. And did I mention his hotness? yow-za. i definitely plan on going to more comedy shows in the future.
after the show, Adam came and picked me up in Boston because he is nice and knows i loathe the train....but then because of stupid construction it ended up taking almost 1.5 hours to get home (usually it takes 20 minutes). so Adam says he is never picking me up in town, again. I blame the city of Boston for their GD midnight construction so accordingly I will be billing them for my cab rides home from now on.
Sunday: went to my parents house for a little while to square away the Thanksgiving menu. My brother was kind enough to make a list of who was responsible for what.
My dad was happy to be left off the list this year. He claims his only responsibility is to eat.
After the details were hashed out, my mom and i headed over to the Derby Street shops to check out Coldwater Creek and Crate and Barrel (where I scored some stemless wine glasses for $1.95 a piece!). Then of course we went to the Talbots outlet as always where I picked up some gorgeous printed silk scarves for $6!. I really love Sunday afternoons. There's just something about them that is really relaxing. So i went home for dinner with Adam ( we had steak tips, potatoes, broccoli rice and biscuits) and I was in bed by 9PM watching Law and Order.
all in all, a great weekend which is making this busy busy busy Monday that much more tolerable.
