so, i evidently have a very similar email address to a grad student at Ohio University.

the reason i know this is because i have been getting several emails a day meant for this other Sarah. and each time i email the person back and i say "you have emailed the wrong person". and each time i get a quick "omg sorry!" apology and every day it continues to happen.

and this morning we have the piece de resistance:

i got several emails from other Ohio.edu grad students today because someone had sent out a mass email to which everyone was annoyingly "replying all" to.

so , to keep up with the trend, i hit "Reply All" and wrote

You have been emailing the wrong person. my email address is sarah.stewart (at) gmail dot com and i do not go to ohio university. i am guessing you are looking for sarah_stewart or maybe just sarahstewart. in any case please remove sarah.stewart because she is not the person you are looking for.

and then i get this cursed reply

"Sarah has changed her email address to Sarah.Stewart(at) gmail dot com. please stop using sarah_stewart or sarahstewart.

noooooooooooo!!!

i'm not saying its that big a deal in real life. but i get ENOUGH spam, i don't need spam + other people's mail. and i have been very clear that its the wrong email address

unless they are just messing with me

those grad students, what a bunch of scamps.

This from the girl who still emails me at megkerins(at)yahoo(dot)com - even though that has never been my address.

lol in my defense that girl never emailed me back to say it WASNT you! i would only find out later when i would be like "hey you're at yahoo, right?" and you would be like "no, you asshole!"

I had a similar problem in college when a girl with the same name as me was president of a particularly active sorority and people kept asking if they could come to my meetings and talk to my girls.

Probably, the other Sarah is wondering why no one from class ever e-mails her.

Ha ha! If it makes you feel better, I can start bombarding the other Sarah with e-mails like, "Hey girl, how 'bout them Patriots?" Or we can plan a pretend party and all your friends can purposely RSVP the other Sarah's e-mail address.
