Tuesday: The Opposite of Props

Romney vetoes law on pill, takes aim at Roe v. Wade

So, our lovely governor has vetoed a bill that would allow trained pharmacists to dispense the morning-after pill without a prescription and would require hospitals to offer it to rape victims.

He claims that the main reason he did this was to uphold a "promise" he made to Massachusetts citizens that he would not change our "abortion laws". He seems a bit confused as to what an abortion actually is since the morning-after pill is just a high amount of birth control that (taken within the first 72 hours after having unprotected sex) prevents the fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus and ever getting a chance to grow, unlike an abortion which actually removes the embryo from the uterus, after it has attached and began to grow.

I don't understand HOW that law could do any harm? Wouldn't Romney, as a pro-lifer, rather have a woman be able to take a pill that prevents her from becoming pregnant, than have to go have an actual procedure later on when she actually is pregnant?

If you are so decidedly anti-abortion, than why veto a law that would lessen the liklihood of a women having to HAVE an aboriton?

i am not a fan of political posturing masquerading as "moral concern". Mitt Romney: you are a douche.

gee, maybe he should outlaw the Pill, too! And condoms!! Going on the theory that any attempt to keep the adorable little egg from meeting up with its partner and changing into an adorable little zygote, divinely inspired by God.

How, in this state, did that man EVER get elected?

man, the night after cooper and i first hooked up we weren't very careful so i had to drag my cousin (fyi: i only thought he was a one night stand..not my future husband or i would have made him go)to the nasty *free* clinic to get the morning after pill....it would be SO nice if a pharmicist could give them to you if you really need it.
...though if mass. doesn't allow it i would bet a million dollars that georgia won't allow it for AT LEAST 75 years!!! :(

There are insane people out there that belive conception is by the will of god, homosexuality is a choice, and Opus Dei will someday rule the world. These people can usually be spotted by the GeorgeW04 stickers on their cars. Absolutely maddening....

It makes me want to take back all those nice things I said about Mitt on my blog...Of course I did say them BEFORE I knew he was a mormon, and even said that I knew next to nothing about him.

Damn you Mitt, making me take back things I already said.

Ezra

and damn you for making me sign in to post this

Yeah, pro-lifers, like our twatfaced governor, believe conception takes place when the sperm fertilizes the egg, and a life has already been formed then. So, the morning after pill is like an abortion to them. UGH!!!!!
