today, although filled with dissapointments, has not been an altogether dissapointing day.

1st dissapointment) it did not really snow. not like it was supposed to. i know, as a New Englander in March i should be just about suicidal from the snow, but i get paid days off when it snows and you can never have too many paid days off, if you ask me

2nd dissapointment) the coffee machine at work is broken. i came in this morning and found it in the trash bin. i'm not ashamed to admit i cried a little. not out loud, but on the inside. a work day without coffee is like sex without an orgasm...seemingly never ending and kind of boring.

3rd dissapointment) on my lunch break i went to this really cute cheese shop that i have recently discovered, in order to buy some neccesities for my first foray into lasagna al forno (which i am making tonight). it took me a while to get there, and once i arrived i was shocked to note that although they are a cheese shop, they do not sell parmgiano in anything other than $30 blocks. and they had no ricotta. and in fact when i asked for these items, i was given a language lesson by the mole-ridden lady behind the counter. i'm american, lady, i don't roll my Rs...and given that i am from the Boston area you should be glad i pronounce them at all.

4th dissapointment) the new copy machine we ordered was way too big for the copy room, and as such the door had to be removed. and that room is freezing cold always, and my desk is right next to it.

actually, scratch the 4th one. it was pretty funny to see a random coworker remove the door with a swiss army knife screwdriver. it lightened my coffee-less day considerably.

and in any case, one cannot be too dissapointed on a thursday, since1) tomorrow is a friday and 2) there are King of the Hill marathons on every Thursday night!

(yes, i love King of the Hill)

I get paid for bad weather days too. Boston girl, huh? One day I will visit that great city as well (it's on my to-do list).
