"This book is so bad, i wouldn't even roll my doobage on it"
- my stats professor, on the stats book i had to pay $117 on for class.
it should also be mentioned that this man refers to most of us on the class as "dude", holds surprise "math battles" by pointing to one person and then another, shouting out a problem and yelling "GO!", and calls exams "Judgement Days" (it says that on the syllabus...we have three judgement days in this class).
in a weird way though, his approach works. i hate math, and not having to take it so seriously actually makes it easier to get a handle on. plus, any professor who brings in munchkins and coffee for his students because "for once he woke up in a good mood" is ok my book.
and it must be working,..because i got my first exam back today and i got a 96!
that's like the score of all the math tests i took in high school combined.

Wow I'm impressed. I think I dropped math as soon as they would let me. I know how to add, subtract, multiply and divide and so far so good. But I like the idea of a teacher that makes his classes interesting.
A Touch of Style :)
me too! i managed never to take math in college, come to find out that to get into most grad schools you have to have taken at least one statistics course! at least this class is relatively painless :-)
whoa, 96!
Respect.
seriously. a 96 on a stats test? way to be man. I hated stats, but it looks like your prof will make it less painless.
Congrats on the score! I've not had math since 8th grade, so ...
Although, I gotta ask, do you really think the prof brought food because he was in a good mood or just trying to cover a really bad case of the munchies? ;)
