on friday, there was a snowstorm predicted for the area that i live in. it could have been anywhere from 2 - 6 inches. since i had a statistics exam on saturday, i was really hoping that the snow would be significant enough for the good people at quincy college to cancel classes. however, i had big shopping and partying plans on saturday afternoon/evening so i needed it to be snowy enough for schools to close but not so snowy that i was stuck in my apartment all day.
i stayed in all friday night and studied hardcore. i have always been a "crammer"..i am not one of those types who can budget my time. i start a paper the day before it is due and i study for exams the night before i have them. this system has always worked well for me.
so i stayed up till about 1:30AM and fell asleep with a calculator in my hand. i then woke up at 6AM, saw that it hadn't even snowed, and had only rained some, and began to cram some more around 8AM i headed to class and as i walked towards the school building, reciting binomial equations in my head, i heard someone calling my name. "hey, Sarah!!" i saw my friend Sarha (not a spelling error, this is how she spells her name) hanging outside of her Explorer window "Class is CANCELLED!"
say what?
apparently my professor lives far north of the city and got SLAMMED with snow. so was unable to make it into class. so class was cancelled. so there was no exam!
and thanks to spring break and jesus (easter) i don't have class again until April!
yeah!!! and you would think that the lack of snow would make me able to keep my shopping and partying plans but instead i went back to bed, woke up at 4PM, lounged around the apartment with Adam, and then went out for some casual drinks with the girls around 9 and was in bed asleep by 11PM.
what a gripping life i do lead.
sunday, adam and i spent the day with his aunt and uncle and his little cousins Sarah (7) and Sidney(5) in Salem. we had brunch, we played dress up, we watched some base ball, i learned the secret rules to Care Bear checkers (the game apparently never ends), and we ended the day with a trip to the Christmas Tree Shops because i cannot pass one without going in and buying something utterly useless, like a sailboat shaped candle holder, or a porcelein rooster that you can open and put things inside (what things, i don't know).
