it smells like weed in my car.

if i was still living at home, and sharing a car with my brother, this would not surprise me, since he is a professional pot head and was very good at hiding "stashes" in the glove box, the trunk, the CD case holder, even in the lining of the back seat. i used to PRAY that i never got pulled over because if for some reaon they searched my car it would seem that i was some kind of drug lord.

and the excuse "but it's not mine!!" never did anyone any good.

but no, this is a different car, a car i have never shared with my brother (thank god) and since i don't smoke (weed), nor do i hang out in my car with people who do, i have no idea why it smells like that.

it's a mystery.

i have been very good at solving "smell mysteries" lately. last month, it seemed that all of a sudden i had developed toxic BO. i always used anti-persperant in the morning (Dove) and i have never BEEN especially smelly, but i would get to work and just get these awful, toxic whiffs. i switched APs and still it reeked. i even bought a little air freshener to keep on my desk and debated switching to the crazy brand my dad uses that you only have to put on every other day because it is THAT strong. (and probably cancer-inducing, if you ask me). i mean, it can get pretty warm in here but that is no excuse. i was mortified!

but then it clicked for me. i was in the copy room, and one of the new interns came in and reached for something above my head. and there it was.

a toxic whiff.

THE toxic whiff!

so it was really the BO of the person whose cubicle is NEXT to mine, thank god. although it is still pretty nasty. but at least it is not my nastiness.

i asked my boss to send out a company-wide email adding deoderant to the company dress code, but she declined.

so i might just do it myself.

What always makes these matters difficult is that the offending person will SWEAR that they never need deodorant.

Wear a surgical mask for a couple of days.
