i went and got my hair did last night!!
i had been wanting to cut all my hair off for a while, now. spring is coming and i am just so over having long hair. it's alot of work (it's very curly, and it has been said that i have enough hair on my head for two people). and i have been coming to realize that no one needs to be spending an hour trying to straighten their hair. i don't have the time anymore, and frankly people, i don't have the patience.
pair this with the fact that i have been watching alot of SATC season 4 and 5 and you have a recipe for short, blonder hair.
(i dabbled with the idea of getting strawberry blonde highlights instead of blonde, but i think that kind of color only looks good on lighter brown hair, and my hair naturally is darkish auburn)
so i printed out this picture and trotted on over to Melissa at the Dellaria in Braintree, handed it to her and said "make my hair look like this!"
and after 2 hours of highlighting, clipping and cutting she handed me the mirror and i was very pleased.
i've always been pretty adventurous with my hair: i have had platinum blonde hair, dark brown almost black hair, and every color in between. it has been very long and very (painfully mushroom-shaped) short. but i really think this is my look. how i am supposed to look.
and of course i had to celebrate my new 'do so Adam and I went to Fox & Hound for dinner and drinks and I got to test drive the new look.
given the way the bartender was treating us, i would say two thumbs up!
although i come into work and no one seems to notice that my hair is 6 inches shorter and blonder.
(then again, i work with mostly old men, so what do i expect?)

Congrats on the new hair! There is no easier way to make yourself feel like a million bucks. Of course that is if it is a good cut. If it is bad there is no easier way to make yourself wear a scarf!
