i don't even mind snow days that much anymore, mostly because it means i can come into work late or not even at all if i want. today i probably could have BS'd my way into coming in at noon (we really did get slammed...about a foot of snow last night and it is still snowing now). instead, i came in about 45 minutes late, because i actually do have thangs to work on, and i don't want to be crazy busy all afternoon with it. but i had a leisurely morning, i got up, made my coffee, lounged on the couch in my bathrobe watching the news, actually put concealer on (something i usually only do on weekends). and when i came time to dig out my car from its six foot snow drift, my landlord was there helping me with a plow!

(did anyone in the Boston area watch FOX25 News this morning? i usually watch it, because they are all so funny and i have a big crush on Doug Meehan (sorry Adam!), but VB was making RELENTLESS and REPEATED fun of my boyfriend this morning for being a "media slut" and "useless". i forgave VB for being a Republican...i cannot forgive him for this!)

also, i finally found my awesome L.L. Bean Suede Winter Boots that i have not seen since 2003. they were in some random duffle bag that i brought with me from my parents house that I thought only had ski stuff in it. score! my plaid wellies are nice, but they are less than waterproof. in fact they are not waterproof at all.

last night was a really good night for me. i made this awesome dinner (chicken schitzel with wild rice and green beans) and managed to oil-fry without setting the fire alarm off for the first time ever! and then our mouse, Wakefield, finally learned how to use his wheel, which means he will no longer be hanging like an acrobat from the top of the cage and gnawing on the metal which makes THE most annoying sound, because now he has something else to occupy him. Adam and i are both very proud of him.

we're nerds.

so, in conclusion, i am in a great mood and no one here at work better mess with it!

i am shocked (SHOCKED!) that your boots are not waterproof. mine keep my feet completely dry, though when tromping through the snow they aren't very warm, so on days like today i double up the socks. i'm not sure tromping is a word, but i like it.
