well, looks like another 4 years of BuSh. a friend asked me yesterday, "can you believe it?", and after a minute i said "i have to." because like it or not, somehow the president with the lowest approval rating ever going into reelection, has won the most votes ever won by any American president in an election that saw the largest voter turnout in the history of the U.S.

it's nearly inconcieveable..although i know i live in the "liberal" vacuum that is the Northeast and do not have my finger on the pulse of the South a.k.a. Jesusland. It's startling how severe the voting boudaries are, and how different we New Englanders are from our evangelical friends in the South. I am all for a secession: New England and the West Coast vs. the South and Midwest. What side has all the top notch universities, centers for technology and medicine and the greatest concentration of informed intelligence? i think you know. And what does the other side have? grits? bibles? bring it on! I am not trying to be a hater..i just don't think I should have to pay for the ill informed decisions of a geographic identity that needs to put down the Bible and pick up a newspaper. So, the civil war starts here.

and how much more bitter a pill to swallow is this election? at least with 2000, we could cry about "selection vs election" and blame a court decision for our latest president. but what now? we (I) need to face facts that AMERICA actually chose this president. that the majority of Americans actually thought he did a good job. And while one would think this would make me take second look at the Man in the White House, instead I am taking a second look at the country i live in...because for all the hedonistic liberalism that is attributed to us in many parts of the Middle East..we are a conservative-ass country with ideals that belong in a 1950s black and white ad for Coca-Cola....who knew?

so now we wait. four more years of lies and tax cuts. four more years of a smirking chimp and a sinister old man, four more years of infringement on civil rights, for more years of BuSh
