i started my new jay-oh-bee today.

i knew as soon as i arrived that it was just the kind of place i was looking for. first of all, i have the biggest desk ever (the biggest in the office!) as well of oodles of office supplies that i did not have to order myself. second of all, i am not the receptionist (as i have been at every office job i have ever had) so i do not have to 1) have anything to do with the mail, 2) order paper and 3) answer the phone 4) take any BS from anyone. there are only 5 people in my office, and 3 dogs. yes, my boss and his wife have three dogs: a boxer, a wheaten terrier and a yorkie named jaeden, julia and joyce, respectively and they spend their days in the office. i, luckily, love dogs and actually spent a good portion of the work day with joyce curled up on my lap while i dealt with irate tenants via phone and email. i have alot more responsibility, and alot more independence. all in all, i am real happy :-)

this weekend was a blur of wedding craziness. i spent all day friday with the bride to be, beth. we got pedicures, we went shoe shopping, we went tanning (which almost resulted in my nervous breakdown thanks to Tingle Tanning Gel. have you heard of this sh*t? you smooth it all over your body before you step in the tanning booth, and it does tingle a little and you are like "oooh!" but then as soon as the UV lights hit you in turns into a burning sensation and you feel like your skin is peeling off and you look down after a minute and you are bright tomato red except for where you missed a spot and on those places you are snow white..so you run screaming out of the tanning booth, whip your clotes on inside out and holler at the tanning lady "i canNOT look like this! i have a wedding to go to tomorrow!" and she looks at you and say calmly "its supposed to do that..it brings the melanin to the surface so that way you tan better...you will only be red for an hour or so" and you think "this is shit i could have known BEFORE hand! athough even if you DID get a good tan it would not be worth the fiery birning sensation"... but i digress,,, and then we spent most of the afternoon setting up the reception hall/decorating/etc...saturday was the wedding and it was spectacular...i had the most fun that i have ever had at a wedding: i drank, i danced, i tried to get adam's mother to double fist soco+gingerale. adam and i stayed in the radisson in manchester for the night and defintely took advantage of the situation by ordering room service for late night dinner AND for breakfast the next morning. is there anything better than room service? i really dont think there is...

all of which is to say: i am very happy lately. i move to my lovely new pad on Sea Street in a little less than 3 weeks, i have a lovely new job that i don't hate and i have been having a good hair day since last Monday. bert is right, life is good.
