i am an old, old woman.

it's true! it's like 8PM on a Friday Night and i am lying in bed, type type typing away on my laptop and hoping i am awake when the sox game is on at 10?

"but sarah? what is the cause of your fatigue?" i know some of you are asking yourselves, clearly concerned with my lack of energy at so early an hour.

i had a very hectic day today. it began early at work. it was the day of our Company Softball Game, as i said earlier. since i basically organized the whole thing (got the permit to use the field, assembled team rosters (on cute, pink-themed spreadsheets might i add), emailed people constantly to demand their precense at the game etc.. so of course it fell on me to do the supply shopping the day of the game. I was sent to Shaw's with $50 in my pocket and a short list in my hand.

this turned out to be an extraordinarily bad idea for a few different reasons. first: i am the most inefficient food-shopper on EARTH. i can comb through a mall in 20 minutes and leave with a fabulous skirt-top-shoe-purse ensemble, but i will never be able to buy ANYTHING in a supermarket in under half an hour. at least. i am oblivious, so i will walk right past something a million times before seeing it. i am scatterbrained, so even with a list in hand i will forget things, and i never go to the same supermarket so i don't memorize floor plans. i also have no perception of size. i saw no problem with fitting two thirty packs of soda in one of those green baskets. of course, not only does it not fit, but it makes the basket pretty damn heavy. and here is something you may not know: walking TO a shaw's supermarket that is 2 city blocks away is no problem when all you have is a purse. It becomes a very LARGE problem when you have 10 large shopping bags with you. and so, I had to pull over (read: drop bags, place cell phone in hand) and call my boss to come pick me up. 1.5 blocks away from work. i am awesome.

the game was later in the afternoon and let me just say that 1) i played on the rentals team and 2) there were 9 of us and 19 of the sales team and 3) we won by a margin of over twenty. granted: i managed to neither catch a ball or be on a base but i still had a good time watching all my bosses getting their asses handed to them. adam came to watch me play (and bring me and cari booze) and ended up playing for the last half of the game (and very well i might add!) . like i told my team: i can't play, but i can get someone who can!!

and it is definitely clear to alot of people that i am leaving the company: when the VP got up to bat and pointed at me as if to say "i'm going to hit the ball to Sarah because she probably wont catch it", i yelled "fuck you!" and gave him the finger.

i am allllll class, baby.
